Who We Are

Empowering Youth to Heal the Planet

Youth Leading Climate Action (YLCA) is a youth-led organization empowering young people to lead sustainable climate solutions. Bangladesh is one of the world's most climate-vulnerable nations — and our youth are rising to lead the change.

Founded in 2022, YLCA focuses on agroecology, green entrepreneurship, biodiversity conservation, and youth participation in climate governance, building a resilient society where youth play a central role in addressing climate challenges.

The YLCA Story

2022 — Founded
YLCA is Born

Founded by Raisul Millat Safkat, who wins the Global Youth Climate Champion 2022 award. YLCA begins with a focus on agroecology and youth governance.

2022–2023 — First Projects
Small Grants & First Programs

Secures first grants from AEF, GAIN, and GYLC. Launches the Nutritious Chips Project and agroecology promotion campaigns with SHISUK and BARD.

2024 — Scale
Youth Parliament & ActionAid Grant

Organizes debate competitions in 4 upazilas with 300 students from 22 colleges. Wins ActionAid's Digital Innovation Challenge 2024.

Nov 2024 — Global
COP29 Delegation

Attends COP29, joins the UNYNGO network, and contributes to DoE, BRAC, UNFSS, and UNEP policy workshops.

2025 — Research & Training
International Conference & NDC Training

Research accepted at the 21st International Conference on Sustainable Development, Ottawa. Trains 55 activists with Youth4NDCs.
