One Youth, One Nursery

We launched the One Youth, One Nursery initiative two months ago with a vision to empower youth girls at the grassroots level. As part of this program, young girls from 20 villages in Daudkandi were provided with seeds of 10 indigenous plant varieties to cultivate in their home gardens.

Today, we are proud to see their incredible progress. Many of the plants have grown well, and some participants have already started harvesting fresh vegetables from their gardens.

To appreciate and encourage their dedication, we organized a small recognition program. Among them, three outstanding young leaders—Tanha, Habiba, and Rohaiba were selected as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place achievers. All of them were rewarded with a new set of seeds to further expand their gardening journey.

This initiative has created strong motivation among both the girls and the wider community. It completes a meaningful cycle community women preserve seeds, pass them to the girls to raise saplings, and the girls return them as plants to grow vegetables ensuring continuity, ownership, and sustainability.

One Youth, One Nursery is not just about planting seeds, it’s about growing confidence, independence, and a sustainable future.
