On 16 February 2026, youth representatives from Youth Leading Climate Action (YLCA) joined an international cohort of young changemakers for Youth Leading in the World—an intensive two-day specialized training program on climate change organized by the renowned environmental organization Oz Green. The initiative brought together passionate youth leaders from Bangladesh, Nepal, India, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to build collective capacity, sharpen leadership skills, and foster regional collaboration in the face of worsening global environmental crises.
The multi-country training provided a dynamic platform for participants to analyze pressing climate realities across diverse geographic and socio-economic contexts. From the fragile mountain ecosystems of Nepal to the low-lying coastal deltas of Bangladesh and the arid, rapidly developing landscapes of the UAE and India, delegates shared localized perspectives on how climate disruption directly impacts their home communities. Through interactive strategy sessions, leadership workshops, and collaborative problem-solving exercises, the participants explored innovative frameworks for youth-driven community action, sustainable development, and environmental advocacy.
For YLCA's participating members, the event served as an invaluable opportunity to showcase their ongoing grassroots initiatives in Bangladesh—such as community-based agroecology, youth nursery development, and local health equity—while learning best practices from global peers and expert facilitators at Oz Green. The training emphasized the critical role that organized youth leadership plays in translating complex climate science into accessible, community-led adaptation strategies.
By bridging geographic boundaries and connecting youth activists across South Asia and the Middle East, Youth Leading in the World reinforced YLCA’s commitment to international solidarity and continuous learning. The program empowered participants with actionable tools, renewed confidence, and an expanded global network of allies dedicated to driving sustainable, climate-resilient transformations in their respective nations and beyond.
