Inclusive Healthcare Camp for Rural Elderly & Persons with Disabilities

On 25 February, Youth Leading Climate Action (YLCA) partnered with the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) and the Education, Health and Development Program (SHISUK) to organize a community health camp in Daulatpur village, Daudkandi, Cumilla. Conducted under the action research project "Strengthening Support for Community Participation of the Rural Elderly and Persons with Disabilities," the camp aimed to bridge healthcare gaps for vulnerable rural demographics.

Medical consultations were provided by Dr. Kabir from Mainamoti Medical College, serving 30 local residents over 50 years of age alongside a young child with special needs. YLCA representatives Umme Umaima Taris and Atkia Farzana coordinated and supervised on-ground operations, ensuring smooth delivery of medical services and reinforcing YLCA’s commitment to inclusive, community-centered social development.
